Help us make history once again.

Friends of the 1980 Miracle Hockey Team, LLC and its fundraiser “Monument to a Miracle” is a nonprofit organization with the mission to construct and maintain a 20 person, life size, bronze monument of the 1980 Miracle Hockey Team. There are statues to many individual icons of American sport outside of stadiums across the country,
but no TEAM has been remembered in such a way.
Our plan is to unveil the Monument to a Miracle on
February 22, 2030 as part of the 50th Anniversary
of the “Miracle on Ice” and the 1980 Winter Olympic
Games in Lake Placid, NY.”

A CLOSER LOOK
The 20 life-sized bronze figures with gold patina will be mounted to a granite replica of the awards podium. The silver and bronze granite podiums will also flank the monument making an ideal tourist/fan photo opportunity. The monument is intended to be located at the front of the entrance of the 1980 Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, NY.
“ This maquette is the prototype for a memorial that will consist of twenty life-size bronze figures depicting the team uniting as one after receiving their gold medals on the podium during the medal ceremony. This sculpture embodies the true spirit and values of the 1980 U.S Olympic Hockey Team as a team and not a group of individuals to include the true joy experienced by those who train hard as a team – who persevere as a team and overcome obstacles and emerge victorious. Engraved in the granite podium will be the names of the hockey team along with quotes from Herb Brooks. ” - Robert Eccleston
An image familiar to our generation and hockey fans all over the world, this monument accurately depicts the team uniting as one after receiving their gold medals on the podium during the medal ceremony. This sculpture embodies the true spirit and values of the 1980 U.S Olympic Hockey Team as a team and not a group of individuals.
